Why You Gotta Be Trashing the G5?

Let’s face it; small, inexpensive vehicles like the Chevrolet Cobalt or Pontiac’s G5 are far from darlings of the reviews board on any automotive website or magazine. It doesn’t help that these vehicles are domestic, already garnishing some points off their final score. But do a little research, and you’ll find while The G5 receives average-at-best ratings from major car reviewers it excels thanks to consumer and driver reviews. Sometimes, you have to put the vehicle in it’s place – it’s not a luxury BMW or Mercedes. But for a base price ranging from $12,000 to upwards of $17,000 you can’t beat the look, feel and performance of this sporty Pontiac.

Overall, those who own either a Pontiac G5 or Cobalt tend to like the speed and exterior looks of this automobile. Those who trash it expect it to be another Honda or Toyota. But many have explained they have over 50 or 60k miles on either car and still have only minor maintenance issues, as with any car. Inside, the vehicle is roomy and fun to drive. Take a G5 on the Turnpike or Trans-Canada Highway and kick it up to 65 MPH (or approx. 100 KPH). You’ll have a blast.
