DMC Wants to Buy Pontiac Solstice?!!

The automotive rumor mill has been throbbing with excitement that DeLorean Motor Company (you know, DMC, the DeLorean?!) wants to purchase the Solstice from Pontiac! It’s unconfirmed as of yet, but General Motors is getting rid of the auto maker by year’s end – so why not try to sell off models and design? The Pontiac Solstice convertible was one of the more original vehicles to come out of GM’s Pontiac brand in the past 5 years. But how do you get gullwing doors on a convertible?!

DMC’s higher-ups are curious about keeping the Wilmington Assembly plant that makes Solstice going. There’s no telling how realistic this all is, as today’s DMC only services the old DeLoreans. The company has reportedly acquired a Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe for closer consideration. All we need is the flux-capacitor and hover conversion – Back to the Future style.
